Chilly GOAT is a premium cold therapy brand developed through a partnership between Olympic legend Michael Phelps and MasterSpas, one of the most respected manufacturers in the performance wellness industry.

Built around elite-level recovery and everyday usability, the Chilly GOAT Cold Tub was designed to bring professional-grade cold immersion into the home. The product combines high-performance engineering with insights from one of the most decorated athletes in history, delivering a recovery experience built for serious athletes, wellness enthusiasts, and performance-driven consumers.

As demand for cold therapy surged across both residential and commercial wellness markets, Chilly GOAT saw an opportunity to expand its direct-to-consumer presence and build a more structured digital growth engine.

To support that next stage of growth, the brand partnered with Brandhopper Digital to rebuild its digital infrastructure and implement a more disciplined marketing system designed to support both residential buyers and commercial wellness operators.

Challenge

Chilly GOAT had strong products, clear differentiation, and growing demand across both residential and commercial markets. What they lacked was a digital ecosystem capable of supporting both audiences effectively.

The Shopify website did not clearly segment homeowners from gyms, wellness centers, and commercial operators. Messaging was broad rather than buyer-specific. The purchase journey did not fully align with how different customer types evaluate cold plunge systems — especially higher-consideration commercial buyers.

Lifecycle marketing also needed structure. While email existed, it was not operating as a segmented system built around audience intent, use case, and long-term value expansion.

Solution

Brandhopper Digital led a comprehensive rebuild of the Shopify website to create a structured, conversion-focused foundation.

The redesign centered around clear segmentation between residential and commercial audiences. Navigation, messaging, and page architecture were rebuilt to guide each buyer type through a pathway aligned with how they evaluate cold plunge systems — from performance specifications to durability, warranty, and ROI considerations.

Product positioning was refined to clarify differentiation across models, and the customer journey was aligned to support both direct-to-consumer purchases and higher-consideration commercial inquiries.

Alongside the website rebuild, we developed a structured lifecycle marketing system inside Klaviyo. Email infrastructure was segmented by commercial versus residential audiences and further refined based on use-case data collected through on-site opt-in surveys.

Targeted welcome flows, post-purchase education sequences, promotional campaigns, and behavior-based segmentation were implemented to increase first-time conversion, retention, and lifetime value. Instead of sending generic campaigns, the brand began operating a data-informed retention engine tailored to distinct buyer profiles.
